You did a beautiful job, but I am wondering about using buttons on a child's toy.. I made them for my kids and grandkids later.. and I always used black felt for the eye. It scares me , buttons can choke a child..
I share your concern for buttons on toys for children. Many of my sock monkeys are made for adult collectors. I have made many monkeys with both felt and embroidered features so that they're safe for small children.
