Today was the boys' first day back to school and it was such a
beautiful day to send them back. It was so nice this morning that I opened the windows to let some fresh air in. For the Pacific Northwest, it hardly feels like winter, but the weather quickly turned to prove to be a
typical PNW day.
Cocoa, anyone?

When I left this morning around 9:45, it was sprinkling at my house but I could see the sun off to the south. That must have been when it was at your house. It has been gray and rainy here all day. Yuck. I do enjoy living in the PNW, but it's days like this that make me long for Chicago.
Doesn't it rain in Chicago? (J/K) I know it's lousy sometimes, I guess I've learned to accept it. The dramatic change in the weather in a single day sort of parallels the "roll with the punches" line of thought. We can't expect that just because we wake up and it's nice and sunny, that it will STAY that way. We must learn to adapt and go just along with it. Sometimes it's stormy in the morning, then the day gets bright and cheery... Spring is just around the corner!
Just like life.
Weather can be crazy in Chicago too... but at least when it rains there, you have thunderstorms to look forward to. And snow...
Ooh, SNOW! That's definitely what we're missing here... Funny, I was thinking of thunderstorms on the way home from school. Doom and gloom today for sure.
I'll take some cocoa! :P
